Yes you may laugh at this, but just one day, your bike may have the misfortune not to go, or motor just dies , and you are miles away from anyone, or any help , this may just help you out. Has anyone towed a motorcycle?, yes in my younger days i have, and its not easy. When bikes did not have all the fairings, windscreens dashboards, etc, just a bare naked bike, with headlight and handle bars, you could slip a rope up through the tripple clamps, a turn or two around the bars and hang on to the loose end, so that if anything was looking dodgy or wobbly, you would just let the end go and release the tow. The other way, although hard with a big bike, the towed bike would just hang onto the towing bikes rider, not easy though and takes some practise. This is the best towing set up i have ever come across, and works very well and safely, and a bike any size, fully faired, can be towed easily for as many Klms as you want to get assistance. Towing bike attaches rope to left footpeg, towed bike attaches other end around right footpeg, (towed bike end takes a full turn around peg and rider stands on loose end) this is so you can quickly release the tow when you want to. Towed rider must keep tension on the tow, by riding the rear or front brake, this takes the snatch out of the rope, just like towing a car. This method is also good because the two bikes are towing staggered. Also the pull is down low which is far better that up high. Now laugh , you have just lear'nt something very interesting, so where is your tow rope stored?
